Communities In Schools of New Jersey (CISNJ), began over eighteen years ago as a single project in Newark and is currently serving over 15,000 youth in: Newark, Passaic, Camden and Cumberland County. The role of the state program is to replicate the CIS model as widely as possible within New Jersey, secure state-level resources, and network on behalf of the individual CIS communities.
Local ProgramsLocal CIS education sites, public schools that broker services to students through CIS, make up local CIS operations. The site's team of CIS staff and assigned school staff connect the community's existing resources with students and their families.
