PROGRAMS
Communities In Schools
of New Jersey (CISNJ), began over ten years ago
as a single project in Newark and
is currently serving over 25,000
students at sites in
its six programs: Newark, Passaic,
Trenton, Cumberland and Union
Counties and Studioworks.
The role of the state program is
to replicate the CIS model as
widely as possible within
New Jersey, secure state-level resources,
and network on behalf of the individual
CIS communities.
Local Programs
Local CIS education sites, public schools
that broker services to students through
CIS, make up local CIS operations. The
site's team of CIS staff and assigned school
staff connect the community's existing
resources with students and their families.
